////////////////////////////////////MISSION

Mental Health
Is Not Optional.

+

Seeking Help
Is A
Superpower.

Two friends walking and talking

And The Level Up Labs.Org is the initiative making it happen.

Levelling up guidance counselling across Guyana by connecting wellness to the digital age. Equipping Educators, Counsellors, and Parents with the Meta, that is the Most Effective Tactic Available to recognise when students are thriving; POG and plugged in versus when they are struggling and tilted. Every student deserves a safe zone — a place to plug in, reflect, and recharge without judgment.

The Mission is to Level up Mental Health spaces with tools, resources and support networks that meet students where they are because the most powerful upgrade a student can make is Levelling Up their own mental health.

The

The Level Up Labs.Org isn't just a website — it's an ecosystem. Physical spaces. Digital tools. A Platform with a network of counsellors, all designed so that no student has to face their struggles alone and without the tools they need.

Counsellor Offices

Equipping Offices with Level Up Labs - Safe spaces in every target school with Digital resources and tools, best practices for support, triage, guidance, privacy and professionals ready to listen.

Digital Check-Ins

Wellness check-ins and activities through Digital Tools and other resources such as our Mental Campaign Map: The Mindscape Challenge, the Book Club, Study Timetable, and KoboToolbox. The data is private. Your voice is heard. Support is Clutch. Progress is tracked.

Real Support

The right information can be hard to find; making it accessible to all students is a cheat code. Along with solid Teamwork, where students help students, because sometimes the best person to talk to is someone who truly gets it. Students are not NPCs — Mental Health Should Never Be a Boring Level Up MXP like a Pro.

////////////////////////////////////FOR COUNSELLORS

Empowering
Counsellors
With Modern Tools.

Great counsellors already know their students. Level Up Labs supports them with the tools to engage, act faster and Communicate better; so no student falls through the cracks.

Our counsellor portal provides real-time dashboards, evidence-based screening data, class-level mood tracking, and professional reporting tools. We have used Guyana’s National Mental Health Action Plan 2024–2030 as our design brief.

"The time between a student struggling, help and Support is the variable that saves lives."

🚨

Flagged Alerts

Instant alerts when students signal distress. Self-harm flags, repeated "Need Support" check-ins, severe screening scores — prioritised by urgency.

📊

Class Mood Tracking

See which classes are thriving and which are struggling. Spot systemic issues before they become crises.

📋

Professional Reports

Document interactions, observations, actions, and recommendations. Schedule follow-ups. Email reports to programme directors.

🧠

Evidence-Based Screening

Structured screening built on PHQ-A and GAD-7 — published, widely used instruments rather than self-help quizzes. Scores are indicators for a counsellor to interpret, never a diagnosis.

Section 03
////////////////////////////THE PATHWAY

A Concern Should
Never Sit Still.

How a concern moves through the system A student checks in. A signal is raised. A counsellor sees it the same day. Support happens in person and the case is followed up until it closes. Student checks in Signal is raised A counsellor sees it Followed up, then closed SAME DAY — NOT NEXT TERM
  1. Student checks in

A daily check-in, a screening a counsellor has asked them to do, or a Request to Talk.

  2. A signal is raised

Scored on the server against published thresholds. The student is never shown a score or a label.

  3. A counsellor sees it

It reaches a named adult in that school, sorted by urgency, with the history attached.

  4. Followed up, then closed

Support happens in person. The case stays open until the counsellor closes it.

01 — Student checks in

A daily check-in, an assigned screening, or a Request to Talk. Two taps, on whatever device they have.

02 — Signal is raised

Scored on the server against published thresholds. The student never sees a score, a severity or a label.

03 — A counsellor sees it

It reaches a named adult in that school, sorted by urgency, with the history already attached.

04 — Followed up, then closed

The help is a person, not the app. The case stays open until the counsellor closes it.

The software never decides anything. It shortens the distance between a student having a hard week and an adult in that building knowing about it.

Section 02
////////////////////////////////////PROGRAM ROLLOUT

The Rollout Is
Three Phases.

Phase 01

Build The
Foundation

Building and testing the process.

Building the tools for Equipping counsellors' offices across secondary schools in Guyana with the essentials digital resources and best practices for support, guidance, privacy and training
— to create real-world safe zones.

In progress
Phase 02

Connect
The Network

Linking schools, counsellors, and students through a digital framework.
Quick and easy access to a Network of tools and resources. KoboToolbox integration for daily check-ins. Privacy-protected data that tracks real progress. Helping Students track their own progress. Challenging themselves to grow and earn Mental Experience points (MXP).
The goal is a shared view of patterns, successes and challenges — first within a school, then across a region, and in time at national level, so that support can be planned rather than improvised.

In development
Phase 03

Go
Digital

Launching The Level Up Labs.Org web experience — where checking in on your mental health feels like powering up to the next Level, not clinically filling out a form. Engage with Activities, Earn Mental Experience points (MXP) and resources designed to support Students' mental wellness journey.

////////////////////////////////////WHERE WE ARE

Built, Tested,
Not Yet Launched.

Built

The platform runs

  • Counsellor portal with case reporting, follow-up scheduling and a shared calendar
  • Flagged-student alerts prioritised by urgency
  • Structured screening with counsellor-facing severity levels
  • Student check-ins, guilds, book club and the Mindscape modules
In hand

What we are doing now

  • An independent security review of every part of the system, and the work it produced
  • Licensing and validation review of every screening instrument we use
  • Consent, retention and safeguarding documentation
  • Designing the standard for a proper counselling space
Not yet

What is not true yet

  • No school has enrolled. No student data exists.
  • We have no partnership, endorsement or contract with the Ministry of Education, or with any international body.
  • Everything shown here has been tested with sample data only.
Why we say this out loud. A platform that handles what students tell it about their own minds has to be honest about what it is. We would rather be judged on what we have actually built than on claims we cannot stand behind. If you are a counsellor, a head teacher or an official reading this and something here does not add up, we want to hear it — leveluplabs.gy@gmail.com.
Section 07
////////////////////////////FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS

You Should Know
Exactly What
This Is.

Handing a school a tool that asks your child how they are feeling is not a small thing. So here is the whole of it, without marketing language. If anything below is unclear, ask us and we will answer in writing.

Nothing happens without consent

A child is connected to the platform by their school counsellor, with your consent recorded first. You can withdraw that consent at any time, without giving a reason, and the account stops.

A real adult is always in the loop

This is not an app that counsels your child. It is a tool that helps the guidance counsellor at their school notice sooner and follow up properly. The support is a person in that building.

We do not sell anything, to anyone

No advertising, no data sold or shared with third parties, no profiling for commercial purposes. There is no business model here that depends on your child’s information.

You can ask for it all back, or deleted

You can request a copy of everything held about your child, or ask for it to be erased. Records a school must keep by law are the only exception, and we will tell you plainly if that applies.

Who can see what my child writes?

The guidance counsellor at their school, and where a school requires it, the senior staff member responsible for safeguarding. Not teachers generally. Not other students. Not us, except where we have to look at a record to fix a fault, which is logged.

Will I be told if something is wrong?

That decision sits with the school, following its own safeguarding policy and the law — not with software and not with us. What we do is make sure the counsellor knows quickly, so that conversation happens sooner.

Does this diagnose my child?

No, and it cannot. The questionnaires used are screening tools that indicate when a longer conversation is worth having. They are not a diagnosis, and we say so on the screen every time.

What if my child does not want to take part?

Then they do not. Participation is voluntary and staying out of it carries no penalty at school. A student who withdraws keeps access to the crisis numbers and the resources.

Where is the information kept?

On managed cloud infrastructure outside Guyana, encrypted in transit and at rest. We will name every supplier, and where they hold data, in our privacy policy — you should not have to take that on trust.

What if it is a real emergency?

Call 915 or 592 502 1388, or go to the nearest hospital. Those services exist for exactly that and they are open now. This platform is for the weeks before an emergency, not the moment of one.

Section 08
////////////////////////////WHAT WE HOLD

The Short
Version.

We hold

Only what the counsellor needs

  • Name, school, year group, and a Level Up ID
  • Check-ins and screening responses the student chooses to give
  • Counsellor notes, appointments and case records
  • A log of who opened which record, and when
We do not hold

And will not start

  • Location, contacts, photos or anything from the device
  • Behavioural profiles built from how a student uses the app
  • Anything sold, shared or licensed to a third party
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking pixels of any kind

Every write goes through a server that checks who is asking. Nothing is trusted just because a browser said so. The full policy, in plain language and in legal form, will be published before the first student is enrolled.
